100% free limewireIs there anything like LimeWire but is 100% virus and spyware free?

The kids want to download music on their computer but I have LimeWire and I always see bad files. I know how to stay away from getting a virus and stuff but I know they wont. Can I let them use something else that is 100% virus and spyware free? The search results don't have to be as good as LimeWire but they will want at least the top 40 stuff.

Well getting 100% virus and spyware free is dependent on you. I myself would avoid using limewire. For two reasons, one its unreliable, and two, its only for music and I download things other than music. I would recommend you download and use utorrent, which is much faster and safer than limewire. It is at first kind of hard to adjust to, but carefully read the information on the website about how to use it and you should be fine. There is also a set of FAQs on taht website in case something goes wrong. Once you have downloaded utorrent, use the following websites:

www.btjunkie.org - a website where you can download many things (movies, music, games, anime, tv shows, et100% free limewirec.) I usually use this website because it tells you if there are any viruses, and this is based off the people that have downloaded taht specific file. For example, when typing in a movie, there will be different files, and just click on one of them, and under all the information there will be huge words like this: --> Good Fake Password Low quality Virus.
These 5 categories will have numbers next to them and people who have accounts and have downloaded the file willl place a number saying its either good, fake, low quality, and virus. Password just means taht you will need to download Winrar, but dont worry about that. Sometimes, the bar will be green and says: This torrent has been verified by the community, meaning that its good and people of the btjunkie community that have downloaded the file say its good to download and is virus free. Also, under that bar, there will be a series of comments, and some files have more and others less, but the people who download taht file give their feedback. I would recommend you use this website

www100% free limewire.isohunt.com - I used to use this website, but its not as organized as btjunkie so I dont really use it

mininova.org - This website is alright, but it is not as popular as btjunkie or isohunt

Short answer no.

Connecting to a vast file sharing network to illegally download copyrighted works is bound to have some issues. The network can not be virus free due to the nature of the beast. I recommend you look for a legal source for your Top 40 copyrighted works. Such as iTunes, MSN, etc.
SpiralFrog. Free (it's website is advertising supported), and unlike Limewire, Spiralfrog is virus free. Better still its 100% legal, so you won't be facing a huge lawsuit if your kids get busted for downloading and sharing copyrighted material!


Limewiere is virus-free...but software on filesharing networks (such as Gnutella - the network Limewire uses) may very well not be.

There is no guarantee that you're going to get virus/spyware-free files on file sharing networks.
