gac music awardsWhy are only a handful of singers ever on CMT and GAC?

For example when nanny 911, supernanny, and old crappy reality t.v. reruns aren't on you will find an hour of music videos or an award show.
And it's ALWAYS the same people singing or nominated for an award:
Trace Adkins, Kenny Chesney, Toby Keith, Carey Underwood, Taylor Swift, Brad Paisley, and Rascal Flatts. It's very strange that in a world full of great singer/songwriters coming out of Austin, and all over that only a very small amount of singers make it on.
It's like a Microsoft Monopoly.
One should be so lucky as to hear Trace Adkins and Brad Paisley on the radio or on CMT nowadays with how much Taylor Swift, Carrie Underwood, Rascal Flatts and Keith Urban are played on both CMT and radio! Honestly, Swift and Underwood usually have at least one song played per hour on my local station...with Paisley--even though he's very popular--I usually don't hear more than one or two of his songs a day! Of course, I haven't had CMT for about two years now and I can't even stand thgac music awardsat channel anymore anyway.

EDIT: Do you really not like any of the artist you mentioned? I'm not a huge of of Adkins, but I don't mind some of his stuff. As for Paisley, I like his music a lot--he's one of the few modern country artists I like as much as I like him. Of course, his older stuff was more true to his country roots, but he still plays the hell out of his Teles!
without a doubt. also some others that need more airplay include the wilkinsons, eric heatherly, rick trevino, david ball, and mindy mccready. thats just to name a few. there's a whole lot more from the past 20 years that don't get the airplay they deserve

That is probably because money talks and that seems to be all that CMT and the radio stations are interested in.

Sadly, after the CMA Awards this week, what is known as traditional/classic Country Music is dead or will be dead shortly. It seems like the "suits" are pushing all of these "Disgac music awardsney singers" and they have forgotten who has or had made Country Music what it once was. Thank God for all of the wonderful albums we have from all of the "true" Country Artists.

Radio is the same way. It's aggravating. No wonder people get burnt out on artists so quickly these days...because the media crams it down our throat every 20 minutes.

I have no actual answer. I assume it's because these artists are the flavor of the moment.
Because that's what the baby-boomer's 'little duds' want to see/hear. They have the purchasing power in their hot little hands while the parents sink deeper into debt.
They have no idea what COUNTRY music is.
It's true, its all about the bucks and not about what sounds good. You got to look good and have money backing you and that is what draws the crowds anymore
tell me about it.
