This is a verse from a song on a Z-Ro mixtape:
Have you ever been arrested just for being too clean on a Sunday night
They'll take your car, take you to jail you won't have a bond until Monday night
Man they just took 13,000 dollars out of my pocket.
Talkin about it's drug related 'cause I had a cigarillo they need to stop it
Since Barack Obama became the first black president
The police have been waging war against the black resident
Racial profiling is at an all time high
We represent 10% of the population but 65% of the jail population and I can't tell you why
Yeah a lot of us are guilty as charged,
and as much as I hate to say it some brothers deserve to be behind bars
You know the ones who beat on women and the murderers and the rapists
Especially the ones who kidnap and even abandon babies
I promise all I was doing was leaving the waffle house
They shine they lights on me and they saw the steak and waffles inside my mouth
They pull me over took my money and gave the king a weed case
And I'm still trtell me why lyrics a-zyin to get my money back from the state
Because the people who scout talent in this country are no longer looking for rap that matters or songs that make sense. Instead, everyone is focused on sh*t they can dance to in a club, or something about candy (ex. laffy taffy, lollipop, sugar cane) and stupid stuff like this. To be a successful rapper in this country you have to get radio coverage (most of the time), and if the radio will play it, I won't listen. The bottom line is, mainstream rap is dead, and it may not come back. Thank you lil wayne (sarcasm)
No kidding... I really don't like Lil Wayne, seriously. It's actually kind of weird how there's somone I can agree with. Hip Hop is losing to rap. There's almost no lyrical content in any rap songs any more. I'm actually listening to Nas and even Big Daddy Kane nowadays. and i was born in the 90's..
maybe it is because no one buys the race card anymore.
i really cant fathom the chemicals our food is containing
they grabbing our ctell me why lyrics a-zhildren and sticking them up in basic training
its so entertaining to witness all these millions of people
just gather together and worship all those symbols of evil
lets start an upheaval and gather in our secret societies
there something primeval inside of me that craves notoriety
AV儿劣* on your blessings, they tortured me in school with they lessons
and sat me in front of a a man and made me give him confession
this countries oppression has got us going through a recession
your worldly possessions will all be taken soon with discretion
microchips control your sleep scan your wrist and pay your debts
the sky is full of flying jets mixing clouds with chemicals amazing we aint dying yet
everytime you brush your teeth or wash your hair your dying quick
everytime you eat a hunk of steak and take a giant sh*t
everytime you feed your kids i bet there are preservatives
and everytime their major plan is always try to murder us
